How does it work?

These patented synthetic balls with a diameter of 225 mm are placed in the manure to seal off the slurry pit. They are therefore located under the grating right in the uppermost liquid layer of diluted manure and urine. This is the emission layer that releases the ammonia into the atmosphere. The balance balls seal off this emission layer and so restrict the release of toxic substances.

The balls are filled with a mixture of water and air. They float with the heaviest part downwards in the manure. The balls turn automatically due to the weight of the manure that falls on them. So the manure falls to the bottom of the slurry pit. The turning ball automatically rinses itself clean in the liquid layer.
